Saturday and Sunday were the last of my really long training days.
Saturday I got out for a 132 mile tour of the city and the IM course. No one joined me this time. There was a little wind and I can't say that I felt the best I've ever felt but it was alright and much better than March 2007 when we fought winds the entire day down to Florence and back.
Sunday I got out of the house early for a 180 minute run. I'm a little confused here. My pattern for the past several months has been that I run the first 10 miles at 9 min/mile pace thereby "buying" myself an additional 1 mile by the time I get to 90 minutes. After that I pretty much run at a 10 min/mile pace. So a 140 minute run meant 15 plus a little miles, 150 minutes meant 16 plus, and so on.
Two weeks ago I ran 17.27 miles in 160 minutes. Last week was kind of a dud because of the extreme heat and humidity but Sunday in 180 minutes I only managed to run 17.77 miles. So for all the extra 20 minutes I was out there I only managed to crawl another 1/2 mile???????
I need to really look at the numbers and see what's up with that!
